We have three phlebotomists/HCA; Jean Buckett, Debbie Wilcox and Kate Chambers. Their job is to take blood samples for tests requested by the doctors or hospital consultants.  Phlebotomy clinics are held every morning from 8.20am –1.00pm

Phlebotomists also do some of our in-house clinical testing, such as recording blood pressures and electrocardiograms (ECGs).

Keeley Bruce is our Practice Manager. She is responsible for the administration of the practice and would be happy to hear any suggestions about how we could improve the non-medical parts of our service.

Practice Administrator Alison Cosher is our Practice Administrator. Alison assists the practice manager in the day to day running of the surgery.

Secretaries We have three secretaries; Jackie Pope, Angela Robins, and our senior secretary Caroline Loveless. They are responsible for all of the doctor’s correspondence. If you need to contact the secretaries please phone the surgery before 2.30pm.

Receptionists Our receptionists are; Jo Cook, Anita Fawcett, Rebecca Ash, Janet Miller, Claire Moore, Sally Clarke, Sharon Swales, and Kirsty Bugler is our senior receptionist. They are here to help you in any way they can, whether by making appointments to see the doctors or advising on administrative problems. If they cannot answer a query they will undertake to find someone else who can. If you prefer to speak to a receptionist in private please ask.

Dispensers We have four dispensers Chloe Bruce, Michelle Osmond, Stacey Wesley and our dispensary manager is Corinne Bennett. The team prepare repeat prescriptions and dispense medicines to dispensing patients.

The team consists of a sister, staff nurses and health care assistants. They offer a high quality professional and confidential home nursing service to housebound patients who are sick, frail or elderly and to the terminally ill. Community nurses may also visit patients who have been discharged from hospital if the hospital advises this is necessary. They give help and advice to patients and carers through periods of illness on how to obtain assistance from other agencies e.g. Social Services and organisations offering support in the home. The Health Visitors are concerned with the health of the whole community, but especially the under 5's. The Health Visiting Team visit new babies and their mothers after the first week of life.. The team's aim is to promote health and early detection of ill health. They visit families regularly to discuss health and care of mothers and their children.  A child health clinic runs every third Thursday of the month between 2-3pm at Wool surgery. Just drop in.

Podiatry/Chiropody This service is operated by Dorset HealthCare Trust and clinics are held at Wareham Hospital.  Appointments are by referral by a Doctor or Nurse.  Appointments are managed by Dorset HealthCare Trust from a central hub and any queries should be directed to telephone number:0300 303 8630
