Community Midwives

Community Midwives are responsible for antenatal and early postnatal care. They Organise parentcraft classes and home visits and have a weekly antenatal clinic where they work in close co-operation with the doctors and the local maternity units.

Community Nurses

The team consists of a sister, staff nurses and health care assistants. They offer a high quality professional and confidential home nursing service to housebound patients who are sick, frail or elderly and to the terminally ill. Community nurses may also visit patients who have been discharged from hospital if the hospital advises this is necessary.

They give help and advice to patients and carers through periods of illness on how to obtain assistance from other agencies e.g. Social Services and organisations offering support in the home. The team can be contacted by telephoning the surgery on 01929 462376.

Health Visitors

Our attached Health Visitors are Niki Hawkins and Katie Whitling. The Health Visitors are concerned with the health of the whole community, but especially the under 5's. The Health Visitors are assisted by Jill Maynard (Community Nursery Nurse) and Jo Jones (Health Visitor Administrative Assistant). The Health Visiting Team visit new babies and their mothers after the first week of life.. The team's aim is to promote health and early detection of ill health. EarlyBird Café Tuesday 2-3.30pm at the Surgery, Just pop in.

A child health clinic also runs each Tuesday between 2-3pm at Wool surgery. Just drop in.

Podiatry/Chiropody
We have a podiatry service held at the surgery for those patients who fulfil strict Health Authority criteria and have been referred by a doctor or nurse. This is not a toenail cutting service.
