WHAT TO DO IN TIME OF BEREAVEMENT

 

If the death occurs at home:

 

During working hours contact the surgery - Out of hours contact Emergency care service on 0845 600 10 13. They will make the necessary arrangements and will contact the funeral director.  The GP will normally issue the certificate necessary for registration the following working day.

 

If the death occurs in hospital:

 

          Contact the funeral director.  He will visit you to discuss the funeral arrangements and give advice on Registration.  The hospital doctor will normally issue the certificate necessary for registration the following working day.
