SWINE FLU

The Chief Medical Officer has again strongly recommended that people over 5 years old in certain risk categories should be vaccinated against swine flu.

The risk categories include all those people who have chronic heart, lung (including asthma which requires treatment), and kidney disease; diabetes, and those who have compromised immune systems. They also include those who live with immunocompromised individuals and pregnant women of more than 12 weeks gestation.

He is also advising that ALL children aged 6 months – 5 years should receive the vaccination.

If you have received a letter from the practice inviting you to make an appointment for a vaccination but have not yet taken up the offer please can we remind and encourage you to do so.

Please telephone the surgery after 9.30am to make an appointment.
